Due to the nature of my work, it’s difficult to get permission to show examples of the courses I’ve created. This is because I’m usually creating online courses for private organisations that often have company specific sensitive information or ‘paid-for’ University courses where the Uni doesn’t want their Professors’ content shared on the internet for free. The clients I work with always retain the IP rights for their content, so sharing it with new potential clients isn’t allowed.
Below is a list of recent clients that I have worked with:
- Universities including : Cambridge, Oxford, Birmingham, King’s College London, Hertfordshire, Manchester Met, UEL, BPP.
- NHS
- British Sugar
- MOD
- The BBC
- Alfred Dunhill
- Numerous pharmaceutical companies
Below are examples of some of the learning design approaches I’ve developed, courses I’ve created and networking/conferences I have spoken at.

Learner expectations in online course design
I created this document after a client asked me ‘What is it that learners really expect from an online course?’. Here I outlined what I believed the learners were looking for in a course and what market research says is a priority. It’s based on established research, student interviews and best practice research.

BBC Editorial guidelines

This is a great example of a creative and innovative online course that I worked on. This award winning course was designed to accompany the BBC Editorial Guidelines documentation and was a requirement for all BBC employees. I loved working on this – I got to work with some incredible BBC directors/producers and the content was just fascinating. We worked hard to make the whole programme as interactive and bespoke as possible and spent a lot of time making unique screentypes. As you’d expect, the course was very video/audio heavy.

Digifest Conference talk: Designing and developing great courses together
Here are the slides from the Digifest conference session that I delivered. Digifest is such a great conference – well worth attending if you are an ID or you’re interested in creating or developing your own eLearning offering. I really enjoy speaking at conferences. It’s a great place to share skills with other IDs and catch-up with previous colleagues and clients.
